Vacuum freeze-drying technology is widely used in bioengineering, pharmaceutical industry, food industry, material science and deep processing of agricultural and sideline products.
The freeze dryer is composed of refrigeration system, vacuum system, heating system and electrical instrument control system. The main components are drying oven, condenser, refrigerating unit, vacuum pump, heating / cooling device, etc. Freeze drying, abbreviated as freeze-drying, is a method of freezing water containing substances into a solid state, and then sublimating the water therein from a solid state to a gaseous state, so as to remove the water and preserve the substances.
Usage of freeze dryer
1. Before each startup, first check whether the pump oil in the vacuum pump is sufficient.
2. Unscrew the drain valve to let the residual water flow out. Tighten the valve after draining.
3. Check whether the contact part between the freeze-drying chamber and the cold trap is intact, and clean and readjust it if necessary.
4. Close all valves (the valve directly connected to the lyophilized bottle is closed when the white knob is upward). Close the valve to be connected between the cold trap and the vacuum pump (behind the instrument, connected with the vacuum pipe).
5. Turn on the cold trap power switch and the vacuum pump power switch.
6. After 15 minutes, open the valve connecting the cold trap to the vacuum pump.
7. After 1 minute, the pre frozen sample (already in the freeze-drying bottle) can be hung on the support, and the freeze-drying process can be carried out after opening the corresponding valve.
8. After freeze-drying, close the corresponding valve (the white knob is upward) and remove the freeze-drying bottle.
9. After all freeze-drying bottles are removed, turn off the power supply of the vacuum pump and the power supply of the cold trap in turn.
10. After the frost in the cold trap melts, open the drain valve for drainage, and then close it.
Precautions for use of freeze dryer
1. Samples must be pre frozen before freeze-drying. Samples can only be freeze-dried in solid state (frozen state). The longer the pre freezing time, the better the freeze-drying effect. The volume of the sample * shall not exceed 1/3 of the volume of the sample bottle.
2. If the sample melts during freeze-drying and the vacuum pump and cold trap work well, the reason is that the vacuum is not enough and there is air leakage. Please check whether all valves are closed, whether the contact between the freeze-drying chamber and the cold well surface is sealed, and clean the cold well surface and the sealing ring of the freeze-drying chamber if necessary.
3. Clean the cold trap chamber and freeze-drying chamber regularly.
4. It can be freeze-dried only after 15 minutes after startup. The purpose is to pre cool the cold well and preheat the vacuum pump. Only in this way can the instrument work in a * working state.
5. After the freeze-drying is completed and the valve is closed, the inside of the freeze-drying bottle is connected with the outside, and the bottle can be removed after the air pressure is balanced.
6. Clean the dust inside the compression bottle regularly, and add oil when there is little oil in the vacuum pump.
